Obviously we didn’t care to move, so instead, we just got out of our car and walked away, after she proceeded to take a photo of our license plate, and explain to us that she is planning to call the cops.

Once the Russian-drama had been pushed aside, we set on to our true destination; OMSI! They are currently having a “Game-On” attraction, where they have transformed their bottom level into an arcade, filled with anything from Pong, to Gauntlet, and even a new state-of-the-art game sphere, virtual world thing. [I would've loved to have tried it, but the waiting list was gargantuan.]

Unfortunately they had a “no photography” rule, so I wasn’t able to snag you guys any pictures, but here, have this Pikachu instead to make up for it.

 After we finished up at OMSI, we headed over to the mall in order to grab some Fro Yo. [that's "Frozen Yogurt" for you less lingo-savvy people out there] Me and Sahara shared a Fro Yo, which I soon found to be a terrible idea. Whereas my half was topped with things like M&M’s and little gummies, her concoction of toppings contained two green olives, a topping which I am almost certain was put out as a gag. Katie’s Fro Yo, however, was topped nicely with little balls of fruity juice, which are comparable in texture to eating a fish’s eyeball, yet taste like your average children’s juice drink.

Once the Fro Yo was devoured, we set out on a mission to purchase some “Monster High” dolls.

Our first stop to locate these dolls was Fred Meyer. Looking around, we didn’t find the dolls we wanted, so we decided to go, but before doing so, had to stop by Fred Meyer’s adorable bakery. I took a lot of photos there, so I’m just going to post them all, and if you have any questions about what something is, you can ask in the comments!

Once all of the desserts had been properly photographed, we continued our search for the perfect Monster High Dolls.

At Target, we found a set of five dolls for $50, and decided to all pitch in, in order to buy it. Katie also bought a Lagoona doll, because she was missing from the set of five.

Dolls in hand, we left the store, and Sahara and I dropped Katie off at her house. On the way back, me and Sahara got in a minor car accident, which messed her car up a bit. Luckily neither of us got hurt though, and neither did the person in the other car. Could it’ve been karma for stealing the Russian Ladies parking spot…?

Last Tuesday, I attended my first official Lolita meet-up! Although I don’t actually own any Lolita clothing as of yet, my wonderful friend Katie was kind enough to let me raid her closet for the day. I borrowed her Angelic Pretty brand “Powder Rose” dress, along with her blonde wig, socks, and shoes. Katie was dressed in her brand new “Jewelry Jelly” coord, while Meggan was wearing the adorable “Whimsical Vanilla-Chan.” [Oh god I almost died when she pulled her dress out of the bag. Vanilla-Chan is one of my dream prints, hnnng. ♥]

We started off the meet-up by stopping inside of a cute little jewelry store. The walls, ceiling, and decorations in this place were all pink, so we felt obligated to go in and check it out! Although a lot of the jewelry was very shiny and cute, I couldn’t seem to get over the fact that a lot of what the store was selling seemed to be knock-offs. Certain popular characters were distorted and strange, while a lot of what I saw looked like they came straight from Forever 21. Regardless of the faux jewelry though, the place was super cute, and fun to look around in ~

Next, we stopped at an adorable little crepe shop, by the name of “Love Via Crepes,” a title that proved to be quite true! All of the crepes here looked gorgeous, and were displayed in a nice little glass showcase on the wall. This particular shop sold both savory and sweet crepes, with flavors varying from Chicken Teriyaki, to Berries and Cream. All three of us decided to get sweet crepes, which were, may I add, very very delicious. ♥

After crepes, me, Katie, and Meggan wandered around forever, in a desperate attempt to locate the Karaoke place. Along the way, we had many people stop us, to ask for pictures, question our clothing, or just to pay us a compliment~ Eventually, we found the karaoke place, and joined Ashlee, Kirsty, Victoria, Rikki, Laura, Melody, Holly, and a few other people. We sang some songs, talked, and had a good time goofing off~

About halfway through the karaoke’ing, we took a break, and decided to go outside in order to get some photos taken, before it got too dark.

After all of the pictures, we went back inside to sing some more, then me, Katie, and Meggan left, and began heading home. As we were walking to the car, some girl shouted at us from her car and said “YOU GUYS LOOK CUTE” then, her boyfriend looked at us, and yelled “DAS CUTE” before doing a two-finger gangster point at us, hahaha.

So, that pretty much sums up the meet up! I’m really glad I went, and I hope to go to many more in the future. Everyone in the Oregon community is so nice and welcoming, it’s really a pleasure to spend time with all of them. I will now end this post with a macro I made of Meggan ~

First, before any sort of introduction, or explanation, I’d like you to give yourself a moment to simply stare at the above image.

You may think to yourself “Is this from some sort of magazine?” “Is it a still from a live action anime?” “What the heck am I looking at?”

Well my dear friend, you are looking at the internet’s newest sensation,  a video known to most as “PON PON WEI WEI WEI” though it is actually titled “PONPONPON.” This is a video that model and Harajuku personality, Kyary, has recently debuted, to kick off her music career.

From the get-go, we can tell that this isn’t going to be your Grandma’s PV. From spinning brains, to eyeball shorts, this video grabs our attention right away, and sucks us into a world of mystery, disturbia, and above all; adorableness.

Seriously, if it weren’t for all of the stuffed animals, the bright colors, and even Kyary herself, one might mistake this video for an episode of The Twilight Zone. Luckily though, it pertains all of the cuteness necessary to give us comfort, while still keeping us interested.

So, besides the Main Kyary [as I like to call her] in this video, there are two more important characters whom quickly surface. There is the “Pink Girl With A Fruit Head”, and “Fat Pink Dress Lady”. These two legitimately disturb me, and I can’t seem to get the image of a floating pink head out of my mind as I sleep.

Regardless of my fears, however, it might be nice to actually discuss the content of this video. Alongside the song itself, there are fragments of a dance [which I am sure we will see surfacing the channels of many Youtube dancers (including myself) very shortly], and various clips displaying bees, skulls, toast, bones, and a slurry toys, which can usually be found sticking out of Pink Girl’s hair.

About this video, there really isn’t much else I can say. It is random, catchy, disturbing, fascinating, confusing, interesting, and will, I’m sure, become an internet sensation within the next few days.

Now it’s time for you to take a look for yourself.

Now, although the prospect of sitting through an entire series of little tuxedo wearing birds banging on percussion instruments didn’t seem very appealing, I couldn’t help but take a peak. Now that you know what kind of thoughts loomed in my head before I clicked on the dark “play” arrow, you may be a bit surprised at my next thoughts, upon beginning the episode.

Wow.

That was all I thought. Simply, “wow.”

Within, literally, the first minute, my opinions did a complete 180. Not only was the animation and art completely gorgeous, but the introduction was enticing, and the voice acting crisp.

We start the show with the image of a [seemingly] teenage girl sleeping in her bed. As a male voice enchants us with his own opinions of what “fate” truly means, we are guided around the room by twinkling stars, being shown family portraits, an old stuffed bear, and various other objects that will probably resurface later in the series. As this magical scene fades off, we finally get to see the opening song.

The opening song is super catchy, haha! Besides that though, let’s talk about the actual content that we are shown. First off;

Penguins.

We see lots of penguins. Everywhere.

But that’s okay, because I’m sure they have some sort of significance that we will later learn! Besides the penguins, we are introduced to a flurry of beautiful character designs. First we see three penguins, marked 1, 2, and 3, who I am sure are meant to resemble the three main characters. From the penguins, we can see that Red Hair (penguin # 1) will probably be the aggressive, strong type, due to the band aid on his penguin’s cheek. He already reminds me of Kyo from Fruits Basket. The next penguin (penguin #2), Blue Hair, seems like he will be the calm, pretty boy character, who, if you allow me to relate this to Fruits Basket again, seems a bit like Prince Yuki. The final penguin, (penguin #3) is the Sleeping Girl whom we saw in the introduction! From the bow that tops the penguins head, we really can’t pull much context, other than that implies she is a girl, a fact we are already aware of. Sleeping Girl seems like she will be the quiet sophisticated type, but that is just a guess~

After the three protagonists, we see an apple fall, [why must so many anime openings include apples...?] followed by two, very interesting, bear robot things. After a few more shots, a woman [possibly Sleeping Girl?] appears in a gorgeous Penguin themed gown, followed by some pink notebook, and a cute little brown haired school girl, who soon….gets lit on fire? An older woman with guns flashes by, followed by a beautiful blonde woman in a classical pink dress. A creepy glass-wearing-man with a bird is seen, as a much more beautiful pink haired man in a white jacket zooms by. [He is gorgeous. ♥] Bullets fall, some hands embrace, and we are re-introduced to our three penguins from before, this time, with the addition of a fourth, darker penguin, who carries no number. Our apple of symbolism falls again, before being caught, signaling the end of the opening song!

B’AWWWWW, what a perfect way to start off. We are introduced to the most colorful house ever [which reminded me a bit of Kuuchuu Buranko...tell me if you see any blonde doctors lying around...], in which a charming little family scene takes place. Even from this small introduction to the characters, I definitely stand by my personality assessments that I made earlier! Anyway, the scene starts off with Shoma (blue hair) calling down Kanba (red hair) and Himari (Sleeping Girl) to breakfast. They talk a bit, and we find out that not only is their mother gone for some reason, but Himari has been hospitalized in the past. The Takakura siblings chat happily for a bit, discussing recipes, before Shoma’s smile turns to a stare, and the scene fades away.

REALITY CHECK. We interrupt this cheerful, colorful, seemingly perfect family moment to bring you….YOUR SISTER IS GOING TO DIE IN A FEW MONTHS, AND THERE AIN’T NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT.

That scene was really brilliantly placed, and animated. It also confirms my personality assessments, as Kanba proves himself to be the aggressive manly type, while Shoma steps back and takes his role as the calm pretty boy. brb rewatching this scene a few more times. ♥ There really isn’t anything I can say about this one, you have to watch it yourself.

So, following the dramatic scene, we are back to the uguu gushy happy fluffy family moments. Himari proclaims that she wants to go to the Aquarium after we hear some school boys discuss the significance of apples, and they are off! At the aquarium, Himari, Sho, and Kanba watch the tuxedo birds, but are interrupted when Kanba’s phone begins to ring. Kanba leaves, and to distracts Himari from envying a child [who was visiting the aquarium with his mother and father] Sho rushes her off to go look at souvenirs. As they walk away, Penguins # 1,2, and 3 are seen peeking out of garbage cans, heh heh heh.

SO WOW, A LOT JUST HAPPENED IN THAT SCENE. Let me quickly run through it. Himari is looking at souvenirs, picks out a hat that she likes, [which closely resembles the hat from the "Penguin Gown" woman in the opening song], Kanba comes back, Himari is gone, somebody announces that a girl has collapsed, Kanba and Shoma run and find Himari on the ground, they go to hospital, Himari dies, Shoma gets angry and tackles Kanba in the hospital room, Himari comes back to life…?

WHAT JUST HAPPENED?
